During my recent visit to the Rothko exhibition at the LV Foundation in Paris, I was deeply moved by the intensity and emotional depth of his work. Rich colour areas and subtle transitions are an invitation to reflect and connect with our inner emotions. This experience gave me the idea to create a candle that exudes the same atmosphere of tranquillity and depth. Deep, bold hues subtly transition into lighter, more ethereal colours as the candle burns. This effect symbolises the transition from daily hustle and bustle to a state of inner peace. My hope is that this candle is not only an aesthetic delight, but also a means of incorporating the contemplative spirit of Rothko’s art into everyday life. Each time the candle is lit, I hope it brings a moment of silence and contemplation, a chance to escape from the hectic and connect with the deeper self.
